PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a determination of whether an electronic-mail is infected with computer virus, without imposing a burden on a small-sized mail terminal which is poor in computer processing capability. SOLUTION: A mail server 10 and the mail terminal 20 are interconnected via a wireless communication network of a wireless communication base station 32 or the like. The mail terminal 20 is configured as a small-sized mail terminal, such as a mobile phone, a mobile information terminal, etc.. When an electronic mail arrives at the mail server 10 via an internet communication network 31, determination as to whether the electronic mail is infected with a virus is made. The determination result on virus infection is appended into a header of the electronic mail, as all or a part of inspection information. The user can be informed whether the electronic mail is infected with a virus, on the basis of the inspection information by the mail terminal 20; and when the electronic mail is infected with the virus, is informed of this by differentiating the ringer tone of a buzzer, the vibration of a vibrator, etc. from those when mail is received normally.
