An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to increase the aperture ratio and the transmittance and improve the side visibility, by forming a pixel electrode to include a first sub-pixel electrode having at least one base electrode consisting of two parallelogram electrode elements and a second sub-pixel electrode having at least two base electrodes. An LCD comprises a substrate, and a plurality of pixel electrode groups(191). Each of the pixel electrode groups includes pixel electrodes(191R,191G,191B), which are adjacently arranged in a row direction. Each of the pixel electrodes includes a first sub-pixel electrode and a second sub-pixel electrode, which are adjacently arranged in a column direction. The first sub-pixel electrode has at least one base electrode consisting of two parallelogram electrode elements having different tilting directions. The second sub-pixel electrode has at least two base electrodes each consisting of two parallelogram electrode elements having different tilting directions.
