An album system for efficiently displaying images by using a pre-processing mode and a method thereof are provided to enable an album client to efficiently display images irrespective of performance of the album client by previously generating/storing effect image in a server, and transmitting the effect image and a raw image to the album client. Each album client(100-110) transmits the image to an effect generation server(140), and displays the image and the effect image received from a service server(160). The effect generation server generates effect of the image received from the alum client, and stores the image and the effect image to an image storage server(150). The image storage server stores the image and the effect image received from the effect generation server, and transmits the image and the effect image to the service server or the album client according to a request of the service server. The service server transmits the requested image and effect image to the album client by receiving the request from the album client.
