The invention relates to a composition suitable for inhibiting potato sprout ing and inhibiting the growth of fungi and decay bacteri a, comprising a mixture of carvone and menthol. The invention further relates t o a method for inhibiting potato sprouting by using such composition and to the use thereof. The invention additionally relates to a composition in the form of an emulsion or granulate whic h comprises carvone and menthol or carvone alone, giving rise to a delayed rel ease of the active compound and an extension of the leng th of sprout inhibition.
