A telematics terminal and a telematics service server using the same are provided to enable a driver to directly acquire the trouble state of his vehicle and the replacement time of various consumer goods by outputting vehicle information, such as self-diagnosis results, vehicle operation information, etc., obtained from an electronic control device in the vehicle, on the screen or by voice. A telematics terminal comprises an operation part(35), a storage part(36), a short range wireless communication part(32), a vehicle information processing part(373), and a mobile communication part(31). The operation part receives a user operation command. The storage part stores control program data to control the operation of the whole system. The short range wireless communication part transmits the user operation command to a vehicle information provisioning terminal by wireless, and receives vehicle self-diagnosis information or vehicle operation information from the vehicle information provisioning terminal by wireless. The vehicle information processing part outputs vehicle self-diagnosis information or vehicle operation information, inputted from the short range wireless communication part, on the screen or by voice according to the control program data. If a vehicle self-diagnosis information or vehicle operation information request signal is inputted from the operation part, the vehicle information processing part transmits associated information to the vehicle information provisioning terminal through the short range wireless communication part. The mobile communication part sends the vehicle self-diagnosis information or vehicle operation information to a telematics service server, connected to a mobile communication network, through an antenna, and transmits and receives data with the telematics service server.
