A DPF(Diesel Particulate Filter) efficiency improving apparatus is provided to improve regeneration performance of a DPF by quickly raising the temperature of the DPF through high temperature EGR gas. A DPF efficiency improving apparatus includes an EGR cooler(20) mounted on an EGR pipe(21), and an EGR valve(22) arranged in upper stream of the EGR cooler. A part of the EGR gas is supplied to the DPF through a branch pipe(23) branched from the upper stream of the EGR valve, and heat-exchanged with a DPF(30). The EGR gas heat-exchanged with the DPF flows toward the EGR cooler through a connection pipe(26) connected between the EGR valve and the EGR cooler. A control valve(24) for controlling the flow of the EGR gas through the branch pipe is mounted on the branch pipe.
