<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely suck and retrieve an electronic component from a component storage section of a joint part without lowering the suction rate of the electronic component even when storage tapes are connected by a connective tape. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU sends a send command to a component supply unit so as to instruct the component supply unit to take a component send action, etc. After that, if the CPU determines that the connective tape has arrived at the suck and retrieve position, it drives an X-axis drive motor and Y-axis drive motor to the suck and retrieve position of the supply unit and moves a substrate recognition camera, takes a picture of a storage section of the storage tape, and the recognition and processing unit performs recognition.
