<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape drive that can easily perform drawn out operation without causing failure of a thickness detection mechanism or the like even when a tape cartridge is loaded into a loading frame with incorrect loading posture. <P>SOLUTION: A pocket 5 for loading provided on the front side of a main body case 1 is covered with a front lid 7 and a shutter 8 capable of performing slide opening/closing. A step falling surface 19 for opening/closing the shutter is formed at the front part with respect to the reference surface 18 provided to the rear end of the bottom surface of the main body case 1. The thickness detection mechanism 41 detects the thickness of a thick tape cartridge T2. The radius R of a detection bar 42 of the thickness detection mechanism 41 is set to be larger than the step E of the reference surface 18 and the step falling surface 19 so that the main body case 1 can be drawn out without any problem according to the detection bar 42 that rides on the reference surface 18 even when the detection bar 42 is hooked at a step wall 20 between the reference surface 18 and the step falling surface 19 due to incorrect loading. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
