PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the matter of a flat motor that the inductance varies among phases due to the dispersion in the magnetic reluctance, and to enhance controllability and starting characteristics, so as to adjust the teeth width and the yoke width to make the magnetic reluctance equal among all phases and to reduce the dispersion in the inductance. SOLUTION: Assuming the teeth width provided in an arcuate yoke to be S1, the teeth length provided in the arcuate yoke to be L1, the teeth width provided in a linear yoke to be S2, the teeth length provided in the linear yoke to be L2, the arcuate yoke width to be S3, the arcuate yoke length to be L3, the linear yoke width to be S4, and the linear yoke length to be L4, S1-S4 and L1-L4 are set, such that R1 and R2 are equal, where R1=L1/S1+L3/S3+L2/S2 is the magnetic reluctance from a teeth, provided in the arcuate yoke to a teeth provided in the linear yoke, and R2=R1=L2/S2+L4/S4+L2/S2 is the magnetic reluctance from a teeth provided in the linear yoke to a teeth provided in the linear yoke.
