<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To purge or stop purging dry air in a polymer membrane type air dryer by automatically activating a control valve via a selector valve based on the pressure of the discharge dry air, according to whether the dry air from the dryer is used or not, without using any electrical signals or a control device at all. <P>SOLUTION: Purge from the polymer membrane type air dryer 1 is stopped, when the delivery pressure of dehumidified air from the dryer 1 becomes a given value or higher, by using the pressure and operating the selector valve 4.
