PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent contents from being overlapped in converted moving image data even when conversion of a still picture into a moving image and still picture photographing are repeated. SOLUTION: A recording apparatus comprises: a reproducing means for reproducing a plurality of still image data recorded on a recording medium; a conversion means for converting still image data reproduced by the reproducing means into moving image data and outputting them as still picture movie data; a recording means for recording on the recording medium the still picture movie data outputted from the conversion means; and a control means for selecting still image data which are not converted into still picture movie data by the conversion means, from among the still image data recorded on the recording medium and controlling the conversion means so as to convert the selected still image data into still picture movie data.
