The device has a measuring value transducer (18) and a traction unit (9) e.g. articulated train, where an upper end of the unit (9) is fixed at a lifting device (11). The lifting device is provided to widely displace the traction unit, so that only the weight of a longitudinal section of the traction unit is engaged at the lifting device. The traction unit is provided above the bulk materials (5) and is extended up to a minimum height of the filling level of a bulk material bunker. A weight measuring device (14) measures the weight (GO) of the traction unit, and includes a load cell (15). An independent claim is also included for a filling level measuring method for bulk materials.
