<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain setting of a highly accurate recording power as to a recording power setting method in an optical disk recorder. <P>SOLUTION: Data are recorded for test (S102) by making a focus balance to change for changing a focal position of a laser beam while irradiating the optical disk by the laser beam. The recorded data are read from the optical disk (S103). An optimum value of the focus balance is judged based on β which makes a sum of an upper side peak value and lower side peak value of an RF signal containing the data to be a denominator and a difference between the upper side peak value and lower side peak value to be a numerator. After this judgement, the focus balance is set to the optimum value (S105). After this setting, an OPC is carried out (S106) for deciding an optimum recording power. Since the recording power can be set optimum in the state the focal point exists at the appropriate position by carrying out the OPC after setting the focus balance to the optimum value like the above, the setting of the highly accurate recording power is attained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
