<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IC card capable of limiting the number of reading times of data such as authentication information necessary in processing in an external apparatus, and improving security, and furthermore capable of switching a security level by setting a limit of the number of the reading times of the authentication information. <P>SOLUTION: In the IC card 1, the authentication information used for authentication processing in the external apparatus 2 is stored in a memory 12, and a counter 14 which counts the number of times of executing read processing with respect to the authentication information is provided. The IC card 1 counts the counter 14 every time an authentication information read request is received from the external apparatus 2. The IC card 1 reads the authentication information from the memory 12 and transmits the read information to the external apparatus 2 in response to the authentication information read request from the external apparatus 2 when a value of the counter 14 is smaller than a predetermined upper limit value, and prohibits the reading of the authentication information from the memory 12 when the value of the counter 14 is the predetermined upper limit value or larger. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
