<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dispersing a water-based ink jet ink, by which a magenta pigment in the ink jet ink can ensure good dispersion stability, and is little flocculated, even when stayed in the liquid for a long period, hardly clogs, when the ink jet ink is jetted, and can give a stable printing concentration not deteriorating the qualities of prints such as detailed letters and the like. <P>SOLUTION: This method for dispersing the water-based ink jet ink, comprising dispersing an organic solvent and a dispersant in a solvent comprising a solvent having a surface tension of 25 to 40 nN/m at 25°C, a viscosity of 1 to 50 mPa s and a vapor pressure of ≤133 Pa in an amount of 50 to 90 mass% and water in an amount of 10 to 45 mass% is characterized by using an annular type medium type dispersing machine for dispersing the organic pigment, controlling a medium bead diameter to ≤0.5 mm, and dispersing the organic pigment at a dispersing machine rotary peripheral velocity of ≤6.5 mm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
