PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a crosstalk amount due to idle pattern signal light in an optical transmission system for executing wavelength-division multiplexing to a broadcasting optical signal and a communication optical signal.
SOLUTION: An optical transmitter 18 generates the idle pattern signal light of a wavelength λd. A calculator 54 sweeps the wavelength λd by using a wavelength controller 56. A WDM optical coupler 16 multiplexes the broadcasting optical signal and an idle pattern optical signal with each other so as to output the multiplexed light to an optical transmission path 32. An optical receiver 46 converts the broadcasting optical signal through the optical transmission path 32 to an electric signal. Three Raman crosstalk components are extracted from an output electric signal of the optical receiver 46 by electric bandpass filters 48a, 48b, and 48c and RF power meters 50a, 50b, and 50c so as to measure each power of the Raman crosstalk components. Measurement results are written in a memory 52. The calculator 54 decides the optimum wavelength λd from the power measurement results obtained from the measurement executed to a plurality of the wavelengths λd.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
