PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoconductive layer which forms a radiation image taking panel to record radiation image information as an electrostatic latent image, and has less degradation of sensitivity and improved after-image charactersitic of photoconduction. SOLUTION: The photoconductive layer for a radiation image taking panel is formed by selenium alloy containing 0.1 to 1,000 molar ppm of monovalent metal and 0.1 to 1,000 molar ppm of a chalcogenide element other than Se.
