PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform unitary management without considering the item identification information or unit of performance information unique to operation management in an environment in which a plurality of different operation managements exist on a network. SOLUTION: This information monitoring method for monitoring the information of a plurality of computers comprises a step for converting the item identification information under acquisition request of performance information into the item identification information of a computer; a step for transmitting the converted acquisition request to the computer to be monitored by communication equipment; a step for acquiring the performance information of the computer to be monitored about items shown by the converted item identification information under acquisition request, and for transmitting it by the communication equipment; and a step for converting item identification information and unit in the performance information transmitted from the computer to be monitored into the item identification information and unit of the device at the acquisition request side, and for transmitting it to the device at the acquisition request side by the communication equipment.
