PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for a vehicle capable of displaying a vehicle rear side image even if a micro-computer for an instrument fails in a constitution displaying the vehicle rear side image on an image display unit provided on a combination meter. SOLUTION: The display device for the vehicle is constituted such that when an ignition switch is turned ON, electric power is fed to a power supply and a micro-computer 3 for a multi-display is operated regardless of the operation state of the micro-computer 2 for the meter. Therefore, the combination meter 1 can be provided, in which even when the micro-computer 2 for the meter is failed, when a driver operates a transmission to a reverse gear, the rear side image of the automobile photographed by an image sensor 7 can be displayed on a TFT liquid crystal display unit 4.
