A method of drying textiles and paper comprises using microwave absorption by the material with simultaneous control of the material temperature by means of a suitable temperature sensor. Preferably drying is carried out in a microwave-tight metal drum or chamber and used at least one generator such as a magnetron and a microwave frequency of 0.2-20 GHz.
