<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid heater, with a heat exchange means for heating clean water at outside of a storage means, capable of minimizing a period of time required for the temperature of clean water to reach a predetermined temperature when restarting to heat and supply the supply water after stopping to heat and supply the clean water. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid heater 1, a main body part 2, a combustion part 3 and a muffler 4 as well as structuring members of a clean water system S, a heating system D and a bath system F are provided in a casing C. The clean water system S is structured with a heat exchanger 30 for supply water as a center. The heat exchanger 30 for the clean water is provided apart from a storage part 6 below it and capable of heating the supply water by heat exchange with thermal medium supplied from the storage part 6.
