The method involves utilizing an ultrasound sensor for detecting a curved print substrate, where the ultrasound sensor comprises a transmitter (1) and receiver (2). A signal of the sensor generated by a connection region is varied from a signal of the sensor generated by the rest of the curved print substrate with respect to a temporal sequence of the print substrate detection. The availability of the corrected print substrate is detected based on the availability of the sensor signals.
