<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a shift of a white point on a display screen toward a green color side in an electrooptical device equipped with a color filter having four colors. <P>SOLUTION: The electrooptical device is for example a liquid crystal display device, and is equipped with a display panel such as a liquid crystal display panel, and a illuminating device. A red based first coloring layer, a blue based second coloring layer, and coloring layers with two kinds of third and fourth colors arbitrarily selected from tints between blue and yellow are formed in sub-pixel regions for the respective colors on an inside surface of one substrate out of two substrates. Fine particles in a dispersed state are arranged on at least one out of the third and fourth coloring layers. The fine particles make transmitted light generate scattered light. A wavelength region of light transmitted by at least one of the third and fourth coloring layers is widened with the scattered light and exhibits a spectrum closer to a white color.
