<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission device capable of monitoring obstacles between an input stage of an optical multiplexer and an input stage of an optical amplifier without using an spectrum analyzer, appropriately switching between gain constant controlling and output constant controlling, and outputting signal light of proper optical power. <P>SOLUTION: An optical multiplexing means 1d multiplexes a wavelength of a plurality of signal light. An optical amplifying means 1e connected at a poststage of the optical multiplexing means 1d performs gain constant controlling to control a gain of wavelength multiplexed signal light to a constant level, and output constant controlling to control an output to a constant level. A control determining means 1f determine execution of the gain constant controlling or the output constant controlling at the optical amplifying means 1e, based on a total value of optical power of the plurality of signal light inputted into the optical multiplexing means 1d and optical power of wavelength multiplexed signal light inputted into the optical amplifying means 1e. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
