<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which allows a developing unit replaced with new one in a state of using a current toner cartridge as it is, without using a toner cartridge exclusive for starting and neither adding a new detection means to the developing unit itself. <P>SOLUTION: With respect to the image forming apparatus including an attachable/detachable developing unit 17 and a toner cartridge 16 attachable to and detachable from the developing unit, the toner cartridge 16 which has been used together with the developing unit 17 is allowed to be continuously used even after the developing unit 17 is replaced with new one. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
