<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving device and a driving method which are capable of preventing the occurrence of blackout in low-gradation parts when setting a light emitting display panel to a low dimmer mode. <P>SOLUTION: A reset period and a lighting drive period are repeated every scanning. In the reset period, an output voltage Va from a non-lighting drive power source 5 is applied to light emitting elements E11 to Emn arrayed on a display panel 1 and is stored in parasitic capacities of the light emitting elements. After transition to the lighting drive period, light emission drive currents are supplied from constant current circuits I1 to Im to light emitting elements to be lit. When the display panel is set to the low dimmer mode, the output voltage Va from the non-lighting drive power source 5 is controlled so as to rise. Thus the rise of luminance of light emitting elements in the low dimmer mode can be accelerated to prevent the occurrence of blackout in low-gradation parts in the low dimmer mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
