PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner for electrostatic latent image development free of color variation during heat fixing with a carmine magenta dye as a colorant of a polymerized toner, a method for manufacturing the same and an image forming method. SOLUTION: The toner for electrostatic latent image development containing a release agent is obtained by fusing at least resin particles and colorant particles in an aqueous medium, wherein a colorant contained in the colorant particles is selected from Pigment Red 48:1, Pigment Red 48:2, Pigment Red 48:3, Pigment Red 48:4 and Pigment Red 48:5, and the release agent is an ester wax having a structure of formula: R<SB>1</SB>-(OCO-R<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>, wherein R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>each is a hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent, and n is an integer of 1-4.
