<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting diode illumination module with reduced color phase irregularity and improved illumination quality, and to provide an illumination device using such a module. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting diode illumination module LM is provided with a light emitting diode 1 including a phosphor layer 12 which is arranged to perform the wavelength conversion of a part of the light emitted from a light emitting diode chip 6 attached on a substrate 2, a convex lens 21 which is attached in opposition to the light emitting diode 1 and into which a light with small outgoing angle is mainly incoming, and a reflector 23 which is located around the convex lens such that a light with large outgoing angle is mainly incoming. Further, the module incorporates a lens body 20 which is structured such that primary light distribution characteristics A formed by the light emitted from the light emitting diode chip 6 and outgoing directly from the convex lens 21 and the reflector 23 may almost the same as secondary light distribution characteristics B formed by the light emitted from the phosphor layer 12 and outgoing from the convex lens 21 and the reflector 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
