PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diffraction grating for reducing the number of producing processes of a diffraction grating by dispensing with alignment operation of the diffraction grating on an optical fiber in assembly operation. SOLUTION: A light transmission type diffraction grating cap 110 to be attached to tips of optical fibers 120 and 130 comprises a light transmission type diffraction grating section 112, and a fitting section 113 that is disposed integrally with the diffraction grating section 112, fitted with the outer peripheries of the tips of the optical fibers 120 and 130, and positions the diffraction grating section 112 with respect to the tips of the optical fibers 120 and 130.
