The present invention provides coating composition according to the present invention. The coating composition is a low extractables composition that imparts properties, such as, for example, low friction, high gloss, color and/or pearlescence to a substrate coated with the composition of the presen t invention. In a preferred embodiment, a tampon applicator includes the coati ng composition of the present invention.
