There is provided an article load device having a mounting plane on which an article to be conveyed is mounted. The article load device has non-contact communication means for communicating in non-contact way with a non-contact IC tag attached to the article and mobile power supply means for supplying power to the non-contact communication means. The non-contact communication means has a communication direction oriented toward the area above the mounting plane.
