A method and an apparatus for transmitting scanned documents through e-mail are provided to combine a plurality of respectively scanned document files into a single file, add the combined file to e-mail, and transmit the e-mail. A document is scanned when an e-mail transmission command is received(200,205). The scanned document is stored(210). Document files to be combined are selected from a list of document files including the stored document and previously stored documents(220). The selected document files are combined into a single file(230). The combined file is added to e-mail and transmitted to an e-mail server(240,250).
