An MBMM(Multi-Band Multi-Mode) terminal having a short-distance wireless communication module and a communication method are provided to allow a terminal to continuously perform call communication by using a Bluetooth device although the terminal performs handover between different communication networks such as a WCDMA network and a CDMA network. A CDMA modem(130) receives reception data from a CDMA network and converts the reception data into a PCM(Pulse Code Modulation) data(410,415). When the CDMA modem(130) transmits the converted reception data to a WCDMA modem(110), the WCDMA modem(110) transmits the converted reception data to a Bluetooth module(150)(420). The Bluetooth module(150) converts the reception data having the PCM data format into a pre-set data format and transmits it to a wireless headset(200), and the wireless headset(200) outputs it through a speaker(425,435). When the wireless headset(200) transmits data to a CDMA network, it transmits origination data such as a voice inputted by a user to a Bluetooth module(150)(450,455). The Bluetooth module(150) converts the origination data received from the wireless headset(200) into the PCM data and transmits it to the WCDMA modem(110), and the WCDMA modem(110) transmits the converted origination data to the CDMA modem(130)(460,465). The CDMA modem(130) converts the received origination data having the PCM data format into an EVRC(Enhanced Variable Rate speech Code) and transmits it to the CDMA network(470,475).
