An air cleaner which can perform high speed cooling/heating functions as well as a rapid ventilating function by promptly exhausting contaminated air in an automobile to the outside although an automobile door is not opened is provided. As an air cleaner(30) for flowing the purified air into an automobile after purifying indoor contaminated air through filtering means, the air cleaner comprises: an air cleaner switch(37) for controlling operation of the air cleaner; an air exhaust door which is installed on an exhaust path of the air cleaner, and selectively opens and closes an indoor inflow path and an outdoor exhaust path by operating the switch; and a heater controller(39) for controlling operation of the air exhaust door during operation of the switch such that the air cleaner selectively carries out a function as a cleaner for cleaning indoor contaminated air and a function as an exhauster for forcibly exhausting the indoor contaminated air to the outside of the automobile in a condition that the indoor inflow path is cut off.
