A method and a device for searching a route including a partial route are provided to generate the fixed partial route set by a user and search whole route by using the fixed partial route, which is used by the user in past or is received from other users, and enable a user to easily recognize the generated partial route by generating/providing the fixed partial route comprising nodes and a link. An input part(210) receives a starting place, a destination place, and the partial route. A route determiner(230) determines whole route including the partial route among all routes from the starting place to the destination place. A display part(260) displays the searched whole route. The partial route includes at least two nodes and at least one link connecting the nodes. A map data storing part(290) stores map data. A partial route matcher(270) matches the received partial route to the map data. A partial route storing part(280) receives and stores the partial route. A controller(250) controls each component.
