A shoe assembly for a caterpillar is provided to minimize reduction of the lifespan of a pad which is deformed and worn due to the contact with the ground surface. A shoe assembly for a caterpillar includes a shoe body(11) and a pad(12). A pin hole(11a) is formed in the shoe body. The shoe body includes a growser(13). The pad is supported by a pad support part(14) positioned between the shoe body and the growser. The protrusion height of the pad is regulated by a pad protrusion ratio. The pad protrusion ratio is larger than 3.5 and smaller than 6.5.
