A METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SECURITY CHANNEL IN THE MAC SECURITY NETWORK AND TERMINAL DEVICE USING THE SAME

A method for controlling a security channel in a MAC(Medium Access Control) security service network and a terminal for implementing the same are provided to improve communication efficiency by reducing a transmission rate of a message for encryption key distribution and to reduce a load of a system for generation and distribution of the encryption key through extension of life of the encryption key by repeatedly using one encryption key in a safe range. A method for controlling a security channel in a MAC security service network includes the steps of: sharing a use range and an upper bit initial value of an IV(Initial Vector) of an encryption algorithm between a transmitting side and a receiving side when the security channel is generated(502); generating an SA(Security Association) with the transmitting side by setting an AN(Association Number), a packet number(nextPN) as a lower bit value of the IV, and an SAK(Security Association Key)(504); varying the packet number whenever a frame is transmitted until all packet numbers are eliminated(506); and if all packet numbers are eliminated, after changing the upper bit value of the IV, performing the second step repeatedly(508).
