An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a repair method thereof are provided to prevent a defect of a thin film transistor included in a driving unit of the LCD by electrically connecting a disconnected portion through a repair pattern. A switching device included in each of driving units includes a gate electrode(146), a gate insulating layer covering the gate electrode, a semiconductor layer overlapping the gate electrode with the gate insulating layer interposed therebetween, a plurality of source electrodes(130) formed on the semiconductor layer and branching from a source line(134), a plurality of drain electrodes(142) formed on the semiconductor layer and branching from a drain line, a passivation layer(149) covering the source electrode and the drain electrode, and a repair pattern formed on the passivation layer and crossing at least one of the source electrodes and the drain electrodes. The switching device is formed directly on the substrate. |
