A method and a device for transferring a rights object for digital contents and a DRM(Digital Rights Management) system thereof are provided to increase utility of contents by sharing the contents and domain rights between devices in a domain. A rights issuer issues domain rights to a device(A) that is a predetermined device of a user side. The issued domain rights are encoded domain rights. The predetermined device of the user side generates a domain key and provides the domain key to the rights issuer. The encoded domain rights are domain rights encoded by the rights issuer by using the domain key.
