A method for scanning a frequency of a mobile terminal is provided to increase accuracy of scanning by scanning a specific frequency band at least two times. A method for scanning a frequency of a mobile terminal includes the steps of: repeatedly scanning a frequency band of an arbitrary first bandwidth along an arbitrary first raster(S104); repeatedly scanning a frequency band of an arbitrary second bandwidth for at least one frequency band having a high intensity of received signal among the plurality of scanned frequency bands along an arbitrary second raster(S108); and searching a cell which provides a normal service according to a scanning result. The second raster is less than the first raster.
