The invention relates to the rectal use of a solution containing between 0.5 and 1.5 % sodium chloride, which can be used as an intestinal cleanser by simple mechanical action. The inventive solution can be used as an intestinal cleanser or evacuation means in any case that requires intestinal evacuation. Said solution has no therapeutic effect and, consequently, no side effects.
