<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endless belt capable of evading the stress concentration of a belt and improving the mechanical durability of the belt, and to provide an image forming apparatus provided with the endless belt. <P>SOLUTION: A reinforcing tape 6 stuck to the edge part of a base material 55 of the endless belt comprises a tape base material 61 and an adhesive layer 62 composed of an adhesive material. The adhesive material is not applied to areas within prescribed ranges from the most end parts of both the end part areas (upstream side end part area and downstream side end part area in the rotational direction of the endless belt 5) of the reinforcing tape 6. The reinforcing tape 6 is arranged so that the non-adhesive area in one end part area is superposed to the adhesive area in the other end part area.
