PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an onboard audio device capable of automatically selecting CDDB information when the CDDB information regarding a music CD is obtained. SOLUTION: The method for obtaining CDDB information regarding a music CD stored in the onboard audio device includes the step (step S203) of determining the presence of CDDB information regarding the music CD when the music CD is ripped (step S202), the step (step S206) of inputting title information to identify a music CD when no CDDB information is determined to be present, the step (step S209) of transmitting TOC information and the title information to a home PC through a communication means when the CDDB information regarding the music CD is obtained, and the step (step S210) of obtaining and storing the CDDB information regarding the music CD in response to the transmission.
