PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dynamically register or delete a dump data set during the operation of a computer system. SOLUTION: In the computer system in which a dump data set is registered at starting the system, a DDS management table is loaded to a main storage in order to register information for managing a dump data set DDS which is preset within the system for outputting dump data stored in a virtual storage area, a data set having a data set name not yet used out of data set names defined as DDS is created and registered in the table, thereby enabling registration of DDS to the system even after the starting of the system is completed, and information related to a registered DDS for which deletion is requested and the registered DDS itself are deleted from the DDS management table, thereby enabling deletion of a registered dump data set registered in the system from the system even after the starting of the system is completed.
