PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-way flow path switching type ball valve having improved durability to repetitive operation and improved operability for switching a flow path while surely preventing leakage with high sealing performance even when high pressure fluid flows. SOLUTION: In a body 12 having primary and secondary side flow paths 17, 18 and a tertiary side flow path 19 crossing the flow paths 17, 18, a ball valve element 30 is turnably provided having upper and lower stems 32, 33. Ball seats 40 are mounted on seat retainers 41 provided in the primary and secondary side flow paths 17, 18, and both ball seats 40 are put in thrust sealing contact with the side of the ball valve element 30 via a spring mechanism 46. In the ball valve element 30, a L-shaped port flow path 60 is provided which communicates a secondary side port 35 with a tertiary side port 36 when the primary side flow path 17 is fully closed. At the center position in the L-shaped port flow path 60, a primary side port 34 is provided at an angle of approximate 90°to the crossing direction of the upper and lower stem axial lines O to form the three-way valve.
