PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for manufacturing an optical waveguide device for reducing formation of an excessive layer that causes degradation in optical transmission loss characteristics and for forming cores having different refractive indices, diameters, figures or the like in one optical waveguide while reducing formation of an excessive layer. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing an optical waveguide includes a step of forming a core in a groove provided on a clad surface, and filling the groove with a core material by use of a microdispenser to form a core.
