PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid-absorptive sheet which absorbs and holds an effluent liquid from the human body, is of a thin type, has a quick absorption rate and little wet back, and a method for manufacturing the sheet. SOLUTION: In the liquid-absorptive sheet which has a layer constitution of a liquid-absorptive surface material mainly composed of a pulp/a liquid-absorptive nonwoven fabric/a liquid-absorptive back face material mainly composed of a pulp and comprises a highly-absorptive polymer, the metric basis weight of the liquid-absorptive sheet is 300-600 g/m<SP>2</SP>and the total amount of compounding of the highly water-absorptive polymer is 200-400 g/m<SP>2</SP>, and the highly water-absorptive polymer exists as a layer between a liquid-absorptive surface material layer and a liquid-absorptive nonwoven fabric layer and between the liquid-absorptive nonwoven fabric layer and a liquid-absorptive back face material layer mainly composed of the pulp and the highly absorptive polymer is blended at a rate of 30-50 mass% between the liquid-absorptive surface material mainly composed of the pulp and the liquid-absorptive nonwoven fabric (an A layer), 30-70 mass% between the liquid-absorptive nonwoven fabric and the liquid-absorptive back face material mainly composed of the pulp (a B layer), and 0-40 mass% in the liquid-absorptive nonwoven fabric layer with the rate of compounding of the high absorptive polymer in the A layer≤the rate of compounding of the high absorptive polymer in the B layer.
