PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch to a viewing reserved channel only by selecting its channel number using a remote controller and to make smooth channel switching with another channel by centralizing a program on which a user makes a viewing reservation (video recording reservation) to a viewer channel that is a virtual channel which can be arbitrarily set. SOLUTION: An electronic program guide display apparatus includes a tuner unit 120 for extracting electronic program guide information from a broadcasting wave; an electronic program guide processing unit 130 for creating an electronic program guide from the electronic program guide information and generating a viewer channel; a central processing unit 140 for acquiring a program of the viewer channel from the tuner unit and performing display control using a video control unit; and the video control unit for displaying the video image of the electronic program guide. The viewer channel is then created as one channel similarly to other channels, so that a viewing reserved channel and the other channel can be smoothly switched. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
