A function limitation method of a mobile communication terminal is provided to be capable of adding parameters, related to function limitation for the terminal in a particular area, to system information transmitted from a base station so that the terminal cannot use partial functions in the particular area, consequently information leakage and hacking can be prevented. When a mobile communication terminal is operated, a base station transmits network information having information on the current location of the terminal and system information which includes parameters having control information of particular functions based on the network information, to the terminal. The terminal receives the system information to interpret the information, and controls origination/reception signal control, camera action control, and multimedia functions. The terminal displays for a user that usage of the particular functions is not allowed in a particular area, on a screen.
