PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of working with an annular piston for a rotary fluid machine, in which an annular piston main body (45a) is integrally provided to stand on a piston side end plate and a swing bush holding recess (45c) is formed in a part of the annular piston main body (45a), inhibiting a working process of an inner peripheral surface (45d) and an outer peripheral surface (45e) of the annular piston main body (45a) and the swing bush holding recess (45c) from being complicated. SOLUTION: The method sequentially performs a first work process (p1) of working with one of the inner and outer peripheral surfaces (45d, 45e) of the annular piston main body (45a) with use of an end mill (60) having a diameter 2r which is smaller than the minimum width b of the swing bush holding recess (45c) and than a diameter 2R of an inner peripheral surface (45j) of the swing bush holding recess (45c), a second work process (p2) of working with the inner peripheral surface (45j) of the swing bush holding recess (45c), and a third work process (p3) of working with the other of the inner and outer peripheral surfaces (45d, 45e).
